No Frills. No Fuss. is a South African-based company established in 2020, born from a fortuitous opportunity that came to Robert Le Brun. As the founder and expert route designer, Robert poured over 15 years of event experience—both as a participant and organizer—into creating a race of his own. Just two weeks later, deep in COVID-19 restrictions and curfews, he hosted a 12-hour adventure race that fit perfectly into the 14-hour window allowed between curfews, with travel time on either side near Cape Town.
Since then, the company has grown immensely, hosting over 20 events across the country, with a strong focus in the Western Cape. Today, NFNF is behind some of South Africa’s most iconic trail runs, cycle races, and adventure races—all with a mission to deliver authentic, well-organized outdoor experiences without unnecessary fuss.
Known for events like The Cogmans trail run, Hinterland gravel bike stage race, The NFNF Original multi-day adventure race, the AR Mini-Series, and the O-Run orienteering challenges. NFNF blends it all - trekking, mountain biking, trail running, gravel biking, paddling, and navigation in breathtaking natural settings.
Joined by his wife, Lize-Marie, the Le Bruns make for a killer combo that stays true to their ethos of simplicity, adventure, and community—encouraging racers of all levels to engage deeply with nature, explore freely, and embrace the spirit of raw, unfiltered adventurous events - exactly as they are when bike touring, traveling and adventuring around as a family.
